Dear JVZoo User:
On May 25, 2018, the most significant piece of European (EU) data protection legislation to be introduced in 20 years will come into force when EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) replaces the 1995 Data Protection Directive.
The GDPR gives individuals in the EU more control over how their data is used and places certain obligations on businesses that process information of those individuals.
Preparing for this regulatory change is a priority for many of you, as it is to us, which is why we are updating our Agreements to reflect the new regulation.
Some of the steps JVZoo is taking to ensure we are all properly prepared for the GDPR:
- Working with VeraSafe, a third party Privacy & Web Security Solution that specializes in EU and US Privacy Shields (Changes listed in both JVZoo’s Privacy Policy, Section XI and in our Terms of Service, Section IX)
- Appointing an Article 27 EU Representative (Changes listed in both JVZoo’s Privacy Policy, Section XI and in our Terms of Service, Section IX)
- Providing the ability for customers to view, edit, export and lock their personal data (available on May 25, 2018)
- Providing the ability for Sellers to search and delete customer’s personal data as dictated by the GDPR (available on May 25, 2018)
- Providing a Data Processing Addendum for all our sellers, partners, and required parties (Section 20 of JVZoo’s Seller Agreement)
