Yesterday former President Donald Trump was the target of a assassination attempt while playing golf at his West Palm Beach, Florida, golf club.

A gunman armed with an AK-style rifle was spotted by Secret Service agents near the property line. The suspect fled after the agents opened fire but was later arrested. Trump was unharmed during the incident.

This marks the second attempt on Trump’s life in recent months, following a similar event at a rally in July.

It’s going to get interesting over the next 50 days, be kind to each other.

The Secret To Affiliate Marketing: Building Rock-Solid Relationships

We get it, we’re back to basics talking about affiliate marketing 101 but hold the snooze button—this is not your garden-variety how-to.

Affiliate marketing is a lot like dating, the most important things are trust and credibility—the magic sauce that turns clickers into customers. Listen, content is king: everyone and their mom say it, but it’s not just about churning out slick articles and eye-popping videos… It’s about delivering value. You want to guide your audience, get results, and build a following that doesn’t just scroll and go but clicks and buys!

Let’s be honest here, affiliate marketers, you’re hustling to get those clicks and conversions but the magic really happens when your audience trusts you. Yes, trust the secret sauce that transforms casual visitors into raving fans! Your game plan is incomplete without the magic duo; trust and credibility.

Let’s cut to the chase. In the cutthroat world of affiliate marketing, you can be armed to the teeth with killer content, but if you’re missing trust and credibility, you’re just playing a high-stakes game of Jenga.

 Authentic Content? Yes, Please!

Let’s start with your bread and butter: content. People don’t just want content; they crave *value*. Your articles, blogs, or those oh-so-trendy TikTok videos better be dishing out tips, tricks, and life hacks. The goal? Make people bookmark your page. Imagine your viewer saying, “Hey, I didn’t just buy this blender; I learned five new smoothie recipes!”

Disclosure: Not Just a Legal Checkmark

Transparency isn’t just some corporate buzzword; it’s your ticket to appearing as honest as Mother Teresa. C’mon, who likes those sneaky hidden links? Just tell your audience, “Hey, clicking this might get me a small commission, but it won’t cost you a penny more!” Bingo! You’re not just a marketer; you’re a *transparent* marketer. And guess what? That can keep you miles away from legal woes, too.

Engage, Don’t Just Broadcast

Social media isn’t a monologue, folks. It’s a chatty coffee shop where everyone’s got an opinion. Answer queries, throw in some sass, and make your followers feel like VIPs. McKinsey says 71% of consumers want personalized engagement. So, if Sarah tweets about your product, hit her back with, “Thanks, Sarah! How’s that new blender treating your mornings?”

Summing It Up

Credibility and trust aren’t just buzzwords; they’re your secret sauce in the Wild West of affiliate marketing. Dish out valuable content, be clear with your intentions and keep those communication lines buzzing. Trust me, your bottom line will thank you.

WEALTH, MARKETS & MONEY

Biden Takes Aim At Chinese Retailers

We’ve all seen the ads plastered across social media. Cheap everyday products that tickle that online shopping urge from places like Temu and Shein.

However, those bottom-of-the-barrel prices that have made companies like those so popular could rise if the Biden administration closes off their usage of a trade law loophole. Prices could rise by at least 20% if the so-called de minimis provision is changed, according to a spokesperson for the Republican majority of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party.

“If the de minimis exemption is removed, then the cost of products from marketplaces like Shein and Temu will rise. They will still be cheap marketplaces but they won’t have quite the competitive edge on price they do now, sad Neil Saunders, a retail analyst and managing director of GlobalData. “That may lose them some market share or slow their growth, but they will likely respond by pushing into some higher-priced items to balance out their proportions.”

The news has come after more than a year of scrutiny from both the Democrats and Republicans. The Biden administration has announced plans to bar overseas shipments of products that are subject to U.S.-China tariffs from being eligible for the de minimis exemption.

Over these past few years, companies like these have taken U.S. consumers by storm, but a large part was their ultra-low pricing. While they will most likely continue to have cheap products, the rise in price could cut back on the competitive edge they have over e-commerce stores.

TECH
Crypto: It Pays To Be Careful

It’s one of the hottest assets still to this day: cryptocurrency.

However, the FBI’s first Cryptocurrency Fraud Report states that scams involving online currencies stole $5.6 billion from Americans last year, and most of that from those aged 60 and higher.

The reported scams included phony tech support, extortion, and even scammers impersonating government officials. The largest, however, were investment scams which totaled almost $4 billion. These scams are referred to as pig-butchering where fraudsters assume a fake persona and attempt to cultivate a deep relationship with a victim while pushing them to invest more money into a bogus cryptocurrency.

“These schemes offer individuals large returns with the promise of minimal risk. Over the years, cryptocurrency’s widespread promotion as an investment vehicle, combined with a mindset associated with the ‘fear of mission out,’ has led to opportunities for criminals to target consumers and retail investors – particularly those who seek to profit from investing but are unfamiliar with the technology and the attendant risks,” the FBI said in the report.

The director of fraud victim support for AARP, Amy Nofziger, said that scammers generally target older people as they may hold more wealth while also not being as familiar with newer technologies like cryptocurrencies. “While $5.6 billion in losses is substantial, the true figure is likely much higher due to unreported cases,” she said.

A major pain point is cryptocurrency kiosks which are public machines that allow anyone to deposit cash for bitcoin or other types of crypto. The report found that a majority of victims who reported using one were those over 60.
